Vote for a local in the Queensland Regional Arts Awards

Eleven Central Queenslanders are among your options in the People's Choice category in this year's Queensland Regional Art Awards.

The awards are an annual visual arts prize and exhibition for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote parts of the state.  This year's theme was "wanderlust", which country Queensland artists addressed in every medium from oils and charcoal to found object sculptures, animations and textiles.

Voting is open until Friday, September 6.  Our local contenders, in order of appearance in the slideshow of entrants, are:

  • Sue Kraatz, Rockhampton: Island Hopping
  • Joe Botica, Gladstone: Awoonga Sunset (youth section)
