Radio plays take to the stage

Old-school radio plays with a 21st century twist are coming to Rocky's Walter Reid Cultural Centre early next year, brought to life by a full cast and manual sound effects.

Rocky Radio: Live on Stage is a night of short radio plays performed live, using the power of sound to tell a story without props, sets or costumes.

uses the power of sound to tell stories.

The show includes several short plays from established Aussie playwrights, as well as works by local writers.  There'll be a mix of comedy and drama, slice-of-life realism and more off-the-wall adventures.

There will be two shows, at 3pm and 7pm on Saturday, Feb 17 at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre.  Ticketing details online soon.

The show is supported by the Rockhampton Regional Council and the Queensland Government as Arts Queensland, through a Regional Arts Development Fund grant.
