Firsthand accounts of climate change Breaking Ground in Rockhampton

350 Central Queensland is hosting Breaking Ground, a night of Indigenous and Pacific Islander culture and storytelling at the Walter Reid Community Arts Centre on Saturday, April 6.

350 is a global movement aiming to raise awareness of climate change, and empower people to take action at every level of society.

At Breaking Ground, First Nations and Pasifika people will share the lived realities of climate change, including representatives from Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, Fiji and Samoa. There will be dance, music, spoken word and storytelling, as well as a pop-up art exhibition, all providing firsthand accounts from Pacific nations already dealing with changes like rising sea levels and more frequent severe cyclones.

Breaking Ground is all-ages and free, and organisers recommend booking a ticket to ensure your seat.
